Outreach

Helping Homeless & Runaway Youth

Auburn Youth Resources' street outreach program is designed to locate homeless and runaway youth along the Highway 99 corridor from Federal Way to Tukwila. This is a high-risk area for homeless and sexually exploited youth.

The goal of the program is to provide assistance and referrals to transition these youth from the streets into safe and stable housing.

Outreach workers also refer youth for individual counseling, substance abuse counseling, life skills training, tutoring, safe sex education, and healthcare.

The Outreach Case Management program is funded by a grant provided by Pro Youth of Seattle. Our team of two full-time staff and one peer leader provide case management to almost 100 youth per year. In carrying out this important work AYR collaborates with the King County Health Department, Federal Way Youth & Family Services, the Youth Action Committee, the Federal Way School District, and the King County YMCA.
