The Schools

A Key Partner

The schools throughout our service area are a vital link to Auburn Youth Resources' (AYR) programs and services for at-risk children. Our relationship with school administrators, counselors, and teaching professionals are essential in identifying and delivering needed help to the children and families in our communities.

School counselors frequently refer students who they identify as having behavioral problems at school. The clinical staff at Auburn Youth Resources (AYR) and our satellite Enumclaw Youth and Family Services (EY&FS) provides individual, family, and group counseling designed to help children succeed at school and at home.

AYR has developed and conducts group counseling programs in substance abuse prevention, anger management, and dealing with bullies. These programs are offered in both the Auburn and Enumclaw school districts.

Our Stay in School program helps kids who have been truant from school for a substantial time. These children are referred to AYR through the juvenile court system or by area schools. AYR staff works with these children one on one to help them attend school regularly and learn the skills needed to succeed academically.
