    The AYR outpatient counseling program offers a variety of mental health prevention and intervention services for children, youth and families that experience emotional and behavioral problems.  Our services include individual, group and family counseling utilizing recognized evidenced based proven practice models and are offered in our agency, schools, and client’s homes. Many of these services are offered for bilingual Spanish speaking families.  AYR accepts Medicaid, private pay and insurance and a sliding fee scale is available.  If you have questions, please call us today at 253-939-2202.

    Individual and Family Counseling Brochure_sm
    AYR provides licensed individual and family counseling services that utilize recognized best practice family therapy models. Our therapists help families build strong structured households, enhance parenting skills, increase communication and assist them in finding outside resources that can make a difference in their lives. These services are offered in our agency, schools, and client’s homes.

    Parent Child Interaction Training Brochure_sm
    Early intervention for children aged 3-7 and their adult support system who experience developmental delays and behavior problems. Parent Child Interaction Training (PCIT) is designed to strengthen parenting skills and reduce child behavioral problems. The 14-week program uses live coaching to help parents learn necessary skills for managing difficult behavior for children between the ages of 3 and 7.

    Art and Play Therapy
    AYR therapists provide specialized art and play therapy with younger children, many of whom have suffered the trauma of sexual and/or physical abuse or neglect. Play and art therapy are often utilized to allow these children to act out internal conflicts, re-establish trust and work through the effects of trauma.

    Anger Management and Social Skills
    AYR offers seven anger management and social skills groups for youth 5 to 19. These groups are designed for specific age and developmental levels and help reduce aggression, bullying behaviors, school disciplinary problems, inattention, and restlessness.

    Stay-in-School Program
    This program assists students and their families who are experiencing school attendance problems & academic failure through family therapy and case management services

    Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy
    AYR provides this 12-16 week specialized treatment that works with the child and caregiver to address the bio-psycho-social needs of children who have experienced Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.

    Spanish Language Services
    AYR offers bilingual individual and family counseling services for Spanish speaking clients. These services are provided in our agency sites, local schools and client’s homes.

    Co-Occurring Services
    AYR therapists work with clients that experience co-occurring substance abuse and mental health problems. Our clinical team works closely with the AYR substance abuse treatment staff to provide comprehensive care. This combination of mental health and chemical dependency treatment adds to the depth and versatility of our services.

    Court-ordered Services
    AYR offers individual, group and family counseling to meet court mandated services.

    Case Management services
    AYR therapists and case managers assist clients and their families in acquiring basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, and employment.

    Psychiatric Medication Management
    Medicaid clients receive medication prescription and medication management service supervised by the staff Psychiatrist.
